Young people

Don’t underestimate the passion and power of your young people when it comes to your Connected Church relationship. Instead, make them the centre of it!

Ask them to fundraise, see if they can get their school involved, and encourage them to use the social networks they have to spread the work of your partner far and wide.

Below are a few other ways you can bring your young people on the journey of Connected Church.

At Tearfund we are passionate about following Jesus where the need is greatest. For us that means living a different way and this is our worship. As we take these everyday steps, we form habits, and as those habits begin to change us they become rhythms – deep patterns of life.

Jesus stood with, cried, celebrated and ate with people on the margins of society. We are inspired to do the same in whatever context we find ourselves in. Our faith affects every part of how we live: ‘Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.’ (Romans 12:1 MSG).

Often we feel overwhelmed at the injustice in the world. We don’t know where to start or what to do. The Tearfund Lifestyle website is full of simple, everyday actions which we can do to change the way we live. Alongside them there are inspiring articles and videos to spur us along.

Some actions are easy, some more challenging but all are a fun way to start making some of the changes that you want, but don’t know how, to make. We believe that together we are making a difference; on Tearfund Lifestyle you’ll find stories of people thinking globally and living wholeheartedly.

Getting your young people excited about justice and mission

Tearfund's youth team encourages a lifestyle of activism, changing the world for the better

Many young people have travelled overseas with Tearfund and seen the effects of poverty first-hand. They return wanting to make a difference to the world around them. We think going on a trip with Tearfund is a great way to kick start a lifestyle of lasting change.
