Connecting your wider community

Connected Church can be a great opportunity to connect with your local community and invite them to be part of your Connected Church journey.

Fundraising in your community is an ideal way to do this and fortunately Tearfund have an incredible website with all the ideas you need:

We expected to have an impact on the global church, but what’s remarkable is the impact it’s had in our local community.

Start with an event

A small team or a few well organised people can pull an event together, at very little cost, and raise transformational amounts. Ideas include: quiz nights, bring and buy sales, concerts, afternoon teas, fun days, business breakfasts, auction of skills and talents (it’s amazing how much money can be raised from the offer of baby sitting or a monthly car wash!)

Inspiring Your mission at home

We know many of you will be incredibly inspired by the work of your Connected Church partners. They bring about, with God's help, amazing transformation. But they're not just up against economic poverty, they're fighting spiritual poverty too, which we know a lot about here in the UK. Loneliness, fractured communities, estranged families - sound familiar? We want to take the learning we have from tackling these issues overseas and apply it to a UK context, so your church can bring about transformation in your community.
